Thursday, January 10th, 2008

Day 3 folks.  You know the drill, a brief update on what’s going down for MoGo in the lovely bowels of CES 2008.  Ok, I just said lovely, followed by bowels.  That should be illegal.

Here we go!

CES 2008 Day 3:

The morning came too fast for some of the MoGo team as the night festivities were a big hit. The complete MoGo team assembled over at the Sand’s Convention center prepping for the big drawing. At the “Into Tomorrow booth the GoGo Girls took the front line as the management group answered questions and conducted interveiws with Dave at Into tomorrow. Into Tomorrow staff recorded the days events and we will be providing the footage on our website next week. Also want to stay tuned as CNBC might be showing this on the Road to CES blog/show.

As the we got closer to noon the crowds to grew and Go Go Kat annouced the winners for MoGo Mouse and Grand Prize Gold Diamond encrusted MoGo X54, pictures included.

Grand Prize winner Ryan Hensley took home the Ultimate Bling out MoGo Mouse.

CES 2008 & The MoGo Go Go Girls: Round 2!

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Wow.  I can’t say I am necessarily Surprised, but nevertheless, the post I did about our beloved MoGo Go Go Girls received quite a bit of attention, and that said, I’m sure this one will do the same.

That’s right folks, I have a Round 2 Update of not only our favorite girls in white, but also the goings-on  inside CES this year!  Seems to me I’m missing one heck of a party and I’m sad to be stuck here!  Nevertheless, keep rockin’ MoGo, and the MoGo Go Go Girls!  Scroll for the photo love:

“CES 2008 Day 2 Updates with Photos.

Another good and exciting day at CES 2008 for MoGo and the MoGo Girls. Meetings are continuing to go great and the Mogo girls keep drawing in the people.

Matt Westover finished filming at CNBC for commercial that will air in the next couple weeks. We drew a great crowd presence throughout the hall today, maybe too good as we were asked to quietly leave because the traffic we drew. We kept going strong at the Sands Into tomorrow booth really pressing hard for tomorrow drawing of the limited edition Gold Mogo X54.

Off to the Bluetooth SIG awards.”

MoGo Go Go Girls On The Front Lines of CES!

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Just got this awesome little update from the front lines of the CES 2008! Not only is MoGo looking sharp as a product this year, we have some sharp looking spokesmodels as well! Here’s a quick little blurb from our man on the scene Frank DeSanti:

DAY1

First day of CES was a very exciting day. The MoGo Management team were busy all over CES in numerous strategy sessions resulting from our success from 2007. In the afternoon time CNBC, Road to CES filmed the MoGo Team with a guest appearance from the Mogo Go-Go girls. We are expecting coverage on CNBC later this week as a result. We also launched the Go-Go girls initiative today at CES. Our Go-Go girls mission was to educate the masses on what MoGo Mouse is, provide CES promo cards, and overall awareness of what MoGo was right for each attendee. As you can see in some of the pictures there were times where the Go-Go girls stopped all traffic. We are all getting ready for the night time activities, and will carry on the Mogo mission until dawn.”

Now, don’t think that I’d talk about something as rad as the MoGo Go Go Girls and NOT show you the aforementioned photos! Of course I will. Scroll down for more!

Great Article: Meet Matt Westover

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Wow how did I NOT see this gem before now?!  This gem I’m referring to, is an absolutely awesome article I Just found called “Meet Matt Westover - The Man Behind The MoGo Mouse.”  Basically the article does just that, it allows all of You, to meet Matt, who truly is the man behind the MoGo Mouse.

Head over and check it out, watch the embedded video they provided and learn a whole slew of info about not only Matt, but this great company in general.  The article sums it up pretty sweetly:

“The vision that Matt and the folks at Newton Peripherals had of a mouse that would fit into an available open slot on a notebook, connect without wires using Bluetooth technology and provide that ease of navigation on a screen that we were so used to getting on our desktops was a grand dream.  But dreams and their realizations are what makes us so unique and it was this dream that led to the growth and the ultimate success of the first MoGo Mouse.”

Mobility On The Go.  MoGo.  At any rate, thanks for a great article, keep enjoying the mouse!

Awesome Fan Post of the Day: “MoGo Mouse X54: More Fun Than Nipples”

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

You heard it folks, the MoGo Mouse X54 is officially being called by some of our fans out there as more fun than nipples.  Yeah, the computer kind of mouse that sometimes rests quietly between keys on laptops.  You know, in lieu of a trackpad, the little nub that lets you maneuver around your screen.  Not particularly effective, and not particularly fun to use.

Enter the MoGo Mouse X54…better in, well, all ways.  I just found a post over at an Asian branch of the CNet Blog and it looks like Rory Reid is enjoying the MoGo Mouse much more than using the nipple, or the trackpad.  Good!  Here’s a snippet of what he had to say:

Some people love nipples, others prefer trackpads, but neither of these laptop input devices is as good as a proper external mouse–not when it comes to gaming or image editing, or anything for that matter.

Thankfully, there’s a solution: The Mogo Mouse X54. This wireless Bluetooth mouse collapses to fit into a vacant ExpressCard/54 slot–hence the name–where it automatically recharges. After 30 minutes on charge, it’ll run for a good 8-10 hours from a range of up to 10m away.

Better still, the X54 doubles as a wireless remote control. Flick the switch on the rear to activate media mode, and the function of each button changes. The left and right selectors become previous and next track, the scroll pad manages the volume, and the back button becomes mute. “

Thanks for the shout-out Rory, and thanks for enjoying the product!

$85,000 Cell Phone Bill = Canadian Tears

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Man, and I thought Verizon could be sticklers about charging you for almost every single penny they possibly could.  How would you feel if you were a Canadian man, lonely in your job testing oil and natural gas wells alone, and you wake up to find a cell phone bill charging you a not-so-pleasant $85,000?

Yeah.  Me too.  Too bad this all really happened to Piotr Staniaszek in Canada.  Basically here’s what went down:  He was bored, lonely and Alone so he used his phone as a modem, thinking that browsing the internet was all part of the $10/month unlimited browser plan he signed up for.  The bad news came fast as he racked up hours and hours of internet time downloading movies and music and an assortment of other files.  Then came the bill.

Yeah, apparently it’s pretty clear in the contract that those are Not free activities and he WILL be paying for them.  Lucky for him, Bell, the company in question, agreed to reduce the charge down to a little over $3000, but he plans on fighting that as well.

Bottom line friends, read the fine print.  Please.  All true mobile warriors know that, unfortunately, the youth of America (myself very included) don’t always do so.  Hey, who can blame us, we’re the MTV Generation after all.

French Dropping A Grand For iPhones

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Goodness Gracious my French friends. Might I Just take a brief moment to ask, WHAT are you doing? Granted it’s only 1 out of every 5 of you, but still, what are you thinking dropping a cool $1,000 on an unlocked iPhone?!

That’s right, according to new reports, 20% of all French iPhone iFanatics (don’t steal that Apple, I just made it up) are paying around $1000 for the unlocked version of the popular touch-screen mobile phone. Now, I understand that many Europeans are a bit more, well, savvy when it comes to spending More money to get More product, and this is a good example of this. However, and yes I’m starting the sentence with that, what Doesn’t make sense to me, is they Could buy an iPhone on EBay, crack it, and save 2/3 of what they spent. Why, my dear friends, wouldn’t they at least Try to save some bucks Euros.

I do concur with the article that tipped me off on this; if iPhone 2.0 comes out unlocked in these United States, I do declare it will be arguably the largest mobile phone seller Ever. Ever. We’ll see I suppose but for now, the discerning mobile warriors of FranceLand are spending more to get it unlocked. Would you? Would I? Good question.

Verizon To Open Up Network in ‘08

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Hold onto your hats my friends and fellow In-Networkers. Verizon Wireless is officially going to open up their network to any and all CDMA-based phones. Any.

According to the article over at CrunchGear, “you can bring any CDMA-based phone to Verizon, provided it passes the “very reasonable” certification tests involving “basic network interactivity and a simple security screen.” Wow. The ability to shop ‘outside the box’ as it were, can really provide some extremely exciting opportunities for an already dominating vendor.

What mobile warrior phones will you be bringing over to Verizon when the Network is unlocked? I am curious when/if phones like the iPhone will make their way over after some hackery and debauchery. I’m curious to see what kind of sweet phones I can update to; although, right now for my mobile warrior needs, the LG Voyager just so happens to be rocking my socks off.

Sound off, what are you pumped for? Hit me…
