AT&T & T-Mobile Follow Suit: Unlimted Plans All Around

by Tyler Knott Gregson | February 26th, 2008

I said it yesterday, and I’m saying it today:  Verizon opened some doors baby.  Looks like those doors are opening pretty darn rapidly as AT&T AND T-Mobile are also now offering Unlimited Plans to their cell phone service customers!

This, my friends is great news.  The more open everything becomes, the more standardized the pricing, the better all of us are.  Looks like T-Mobile is shaking things up by putting their price point at $99/month and tossing in ALL forms of Messaging (voice, sms, mms, AND IM) while AT&T’s entry level unlimited plan is also $99, you’re looking at an additional $35 a month to toss in all messaging and web use.  No word yet on an unlimited plan for the much heralded iPhone, any Blackberries, or PDA’s.  An oversight I’m sure will be remedied quicker than slower.

Bottom line my friends, this is good news.  I want to hear your thoughts:  Sound off on what this means to you, to the industry, and what service provider you use!

Ever get the feeling that two different products are just going to absolutely compliment each other?  You know that great feeling you get when you have a bag of Oreos and a big glass of Milk; Peanut Butter and Jelly, Hamburgers and French Fries, and now, the MoGo Headset and AT&T’s newly launched video share service.

That’s right my friends, AT&T has finally and officially launched their new video share service that, get this, lets one user send a LIVE video feed from your phone to the persons phone you’re speaking with…in real time (or at least that’s what they hope).  While the service does require that both people have video-share capable phones and for now is only available in three markets, you have to admit, it’s pretty darn exciting.  I’ve said it before, but, Welcome to the Future.

So, like I said, combine this new, amazing feature with the new MoGo Headset.  Not only will you look like you’re talking to someone that isn’t there while you walk down the street, you’ll look like you’re Looking at someone that isn’t there too!  No, in all seriousness, these two technologies completely compliment each other.  If you’re a college student, think of the implications:  make your friend go to class with his phone aimed towards the professor and MoGo Headset in, while you chill out at home and watch the lecture.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

  • Fresh New MoGo Headset: Welcome to the Future

by Tyler Knott Gregson | March 28th, 2007

You know when you’re walking around downtown, or on a subway, or in the grocery store and the person next to you starts talking to you, but when you respond you find out they really weren’t talking to you at all, but to someone on their headset? Yeah, I’ve always wanted to be one of those people, only cooler than those people. That day, my friends, is here.

Makers of the MoGo Mouse just released the world’s thinnest, ultra-light Bluetooth headset, and man oh man is it cool. My favorite part about the whole thing, in true MoGo Mouse fashion, you can charge it by clipping it to a cell phone, or, yes, sliding it into your laptop. Get this, you can now talk, gossip, jabber, yak and spill all those beans for up to 6 hours of talk time on a single charge. People of the world, prepare to look like you’re talking to yourself all over the city!

The ability to stay mobile is paramount in the world today and in that quest to be mobile, what good is it if all the “mobile” products you’re carrying are heavy, require tons of cables and power strips and adapters to work, and actually make you dread being that Road Warrior you know you want to be? No good friends, no good at all. This new product is so cool, it even won an award.  Veteran industry observer Andrew Seybold, presented Newton Peripherals with his “Most Imaginative Product” award last night and even went on to say, “The Headset is unique in both design and concept.  It will store conveniently on the back of a cell phone, ready to be used at a moment’s notice. Newton Peripherals’ approach to simplifying the use and storage of phone headsets is novel, and deserving of recognition.”  Here is the official press release of this sweet new product…live it, love it: Read the rest of this entry »
