The Pain of TrackPad Scrolling

by Tyler Knott Gregson | March 26th, 2007

I’ve been there, you’ve been there, anyone who has ever whipped out their laptop in an airport, Starbucks or any other WiFi hot-spot, has most certainly been there. Where is “there” you might be asking? “There” is hunched over your laptop ready to throw the entire thing into your Starbucks barista and their Venti Half-Caf-Soy-Mocha-Frappucino because your stupid TrackPad won’t scroll properly.

One could say there is an art to TrackPad scrolling, a finesse move where your fingers slide like little ice-skaters across the little square touch-pond. One could also say it’s the most annoying thing ever. How many times have you been trying to scroll down a website, trying to find that tiny slice of “sweet-spot” on the far right corner only to end up moving your pointer across the screen, accidentily clicking a program or link you didn’t intend, or, the most frustrating of all, not actually scrolling down the page at all, and just sliding your finger up and down aimlessly.

So, for all of us that have been “there,” take a step back from your laptop, take a big deep breath, and let it all out. Help is here. Pop your MoGo Mouse out of your laptop, all freshly charged and ready to go and your Starbucks barista will never again have to worry for her life, or the well-being of her Frappucino children. The ability to have a REAL mouse, wirelessly connected to your laptop at any time is, well, bliss for all you Road Warriors out there. Step away from the TrackPad, and into MoGo’s loving arms.
